YES! It’s finally here!
Summary
Kyoko is working two jobs in order to support and help out her close friend Shotaro, whom she believes is her prince. She abandoned her school life and moved to Tokyo with him in his attempt to rise to stardom. Now Shotaro is so busy she rarely sees him.
After a tough day at work, (Mainly due to the craziness she put into obtaining the poster XD) Kyoko comes home to find Shotaro there. She gets extremely excited and tries to talk to him, but he treats her coldly and says he just came for a change of clothes. He’s about to walk out there door and leave when Kyoko offers him his favorite pudding which he can’t refuse. He stays and gets all chibi and excited. Kyoko is pleased that he stuck around and talks to him about a few things. He turns on the TV and finds his self-proclaimed “rival” Ren, on a talk show. Sho is in the music business, where as Ren is in acting, but Sho can never seem to win in terms of popularity. He begins to fume and Kyoko tries to calm him down by telling him that he’s way cooler than Ren. Sho gets even more annoyed and leaves.
The next day while at work, Kyoko decides she’ll take some food to Sho at the studio to cheer him up a bit. She arrives there to find tons of fangirls flocking around the building. She walks up to the guards and tells them Shotaro ordered food to be delivered. They begin to question her but a ton of fangirls start attacking Kyoko, trying to get her to take them with. The guards, in attempt to stop the uproar let her through. She asks someone for directions to Shotaro’s room and goes to find him. She’s about to knock on his door when she hears his voice coming from a nearby lounge, so she heads that way. Sho is talking to his manager about a few things. His manager brings up Kyoko, and Sho says that she’s annoying and he just brought her along for maid-service. He says many other hateful things all of which are overheard by Kyoko.
In an outrage, Kyoko comes around the corner and throws the food at him. She begins to get more and more pissed off and starts yelling at him. He says more hateful things to her and slowly she begins to fume. (There was a nice chest unlocking sequence here! So similar to the manga!) Kyoko gets so angry that little grudge demons begin to come from her and bitch about Sho. (One chokes him, lol) She says she will never forgive him and take revenge. She’s about to attack him when the guards pick her up. She tells him it’s not over and that she is going to get her revenge, and he retaliates that the only way she could get revenge is to become more famous than him.
The next day Kyoko goes to a salon and gets a complete make over, chopping off all of her hair and buying new clothes. She spends all of her savings and vows that she will destroy Sho.
Opinons
KYAAAA! The episode was SO epic! I’m pleased, more than pleased, ecstatic! I hope it only gets better! XD
Ah, pure, innocent Kyoko! She’s cute! <3 I wasn’t sure whether the seiyuu was gonna be able to pull of Kyoko’s violent mood swings, but she did better than I expected her too. I really liked all the crazy emotion and drama she put into Kyoko’s voice! ^.^ I’m happy.
This was funny, even though her fangirling over Sho tends to piss me off. Good thing it didn’t last too long. It was still fun to watch though!
Zomg! ROFL! They captured Kyoko’s over-dramaticness perfectly! My expectations weren’t too high, cause I didn’t wanna get disappointed, but they just kept rising through out the episode. I really wasn’t expecting it to be as great as it was! Pretty much perfect. Kyoko is a comedic wonder! ^.^
I was pretty much dieing of happiness and laughing at this point. I feel bad for the manager, lol.
I hate you Sho! A deep passionate hate! Gah! I can’t wait to watch the rest to see Kyoko get more involved with Ren, it’ll give me vindictive giggles of fangirl victory at Sho’s loss!
Kyoko’s love for Sho pisses me off too. It’s a good thing it won’t last past this episode, or I wouldn’t be able to take it anymore.
They pulled the chibis off nicely. As I loved their chibi forms immensely in the manga, I’d be upset if they weren’t just as good in the anime. ^.^ I’m happy enough. I love cute chibis! (Except Sho, he isn’t even worthy of a chibi form. MWAHA)
Yeah Sho, Ren is way more popular than you!
Hahaha! His fuming was hilarious, mainly cause I was happy Ren beat him, and will continue to beat him at everything!
This is why I hate Sho. Not only does he take complete advantage of Kyoko, but he’s an ass to her when it isn’t even her fault.
Ah, the realization I was waiting for the entire time! I was pretty much dieing with anticipation at the point. (Mainly cause I wanted to see Kyoko’s demons
)
Aw, Ren~! This scene had no point to it, but I was just glad to see him! ^.^
Rofl! Ah, this scene was the best! So funny, so violent! I feel sorry for the innocent Kyoko Angels! XD
Yes! Kyoko’s demons are released! MWAHAHA! I just love these little things! If the anime had excluded them, I probably wouldn’t have watched anymore, lol.
So funny! Look at little Kyoko Demon go! Teeheehee! XD Sho totally deserved that!
Ah, Kyoko! She looks so much better now! Usually I’m all for the girls with long hair, but short hair just suits her so much better! I can’t wait until the next episode!

Yeah! Kick-a** anti-shoujo anime is finally here… I LOOOVE Ren’s character design here *hits my head on a wall due to extreme fangirling*! Way more than Shou’s (*bleargh*) though I kinda like his ‘tsun going on…
…And is it just me or does Skip Beat! doesn’t deserve this animation quality?
Animation quality was subpar, but I don’t really care… I found it awesome despite those aesthetic flaws, and that’s great! XD As FuyuMaiden also said, the anime captured the manga’s visual comedic aspect really well, I’m surprised myself! Other than the animation, Skip Beat exceeded my expectations ^-^
@kanzeon – I love Ren’s design too! He looks good! He is just so f*cking awesome! Sho, I was bound to hate no matter what. XD
@usagijen – It surpassed my expectations as well. I didn’t have many for the anime though. But I’m content and I enjoyed it. So it’s sufficient to say I will be following the anime throughout the course of the episodes. (Usually I’ll get bored and wander off to some other anime, I’m not patient enough to wait for episodes.)
I’d forgotten how “plain” Kyoko looked before her transformation. xD;
WHERE THE HECK ARE THE SUBS. ;o; I don’t want to download the RAW because it’ll kill my bandwidth. Dx
I can’t wait to watch the scene with the Pandora’s box! >8D
OH~! I love the absolute Shotaro hatred in this post. One great thing about the anime is that all these posts are coming out with some real Shotaro hate and support for Kyoko. As it should be!
I think this anime brings out the wicked side in everyone a little bit. May Shotaro hatred and worship of Kyoko’s demons bring us all together! XD
I agree with you so much about Kyoko’s hair! I know that’s a weird thing to agree with, but whenever in her past you saw her with the long hair, it always bothered because it never looked good on her!
I’m glad you liked the first episode though, I have high hopes for this series!!!
I am all for girls with short hair, but I did like the episode and a wide variety of Kyoko’s expression
I’m usually for longhaired girls myself..but Kyoko with short hair suits her better. :’3
But, I love the long black hair before..she was soo cute. x’3
I don’t care anymore though since she looks good with the short hair too. x’]
I don’t hate Shou..
but reading others post about how they hate him is just fun to read..xD
and he deserves to be hated anyway..x’D
I used to hate him though..but ever since the chapters long ago..ya know~ lawl
I do love DorkShou. x’D Coz dorky Shou is fun to watch..x’DD
Lawl! Like you, I set my expectation quite low after seeing their character design and the PV. But after this episode..I just felt that it was perfect! x’D
Totally not what I was expecting at all! x’3
I love it! ♥
I practically agree about all of your fangirling in this post. xD Hahaha~
