The second episode of Skip Beat! has come out and I find myself loving the anime more and more. This post is way late too. All of my posts are going to be a bit delayed for a while, until my schedule calms down a bit.
Not to mention Ren got lots of screen time this week! Ah, Ren~! Can’t wait until he begins really bullying Kyoko, because it’s just so amusing. I’m not letting myself get worked up over the few annoying things in this anime, but am choosing to instead enjoy it. XD Even if the music is super generic and sucky
Summary
Kyoko is still determined to take down Shotaro. She has begun living at her second job, and her new boss isn’t to pleased about her make over.
She spends a lot of time lot of time hanging around the areas where talent ages usually are, but after getting fed up with never being scouted, she decides to go to a talent agency herself. She goes to the LME studio and has an argument with the workers at the front desk because she doesn’t have an appointment. The head of the Talent Section, Sawara comes by and invites Kyoko to lunch. He asks her what line of show business she would like to go into, and she says she doesn’t really know. It’s obvious to him that she has no really interest in becoming famous. She has a run in with Tsuruga Ren and he along with Sawara, throws her out of the building.
She spends the next few days stalking Sawara, trying to get him to accept her into the company. Eventually he caves and says that there is an audition coming up. Kyoko gets extremely happy at the chance and thanks him. She runs into Ren again, and he begins telling her that she should give up on show business. Her true motive to get revenge on Sho comes out and Ren is not to pleased about it. He warns her that such motives won’t get her through to the next level of the competition.
Kyoko leaves and goes home. She pins up a picture of Ren next to her poster of Sho, and swears she will make them both bow before her. The next day she goes to the audition and is shocked to see so many flashy women participating, all of which are wearing make up. She begins making voodoo dolls (Yes! XD) to relieve her stress. She gets interrupted by another participant who was yelling about a kid being brought to the audition. The other woman throws the child onto Kyoko and storms off. The little girl starts crying and Kyoko picks on her, saying that girls can’t get everything they want with tears.
The audition begins and the girls are introduced to the president of LME, who is a very flashy and eccentric man. Kyoko keeps making mistakes throughout the round. Kotonami Kanae, the women yelling about the child before, wows the judges with her skills and becomes a favorite right away. Kyoko’s turn comes and she shows up on stage holding a daikon and a knife.
Opinions
Skip Beat! is living up to my expectations more than I thought it would. I’m very content with the way things are going at the moment. I’m happy enough to ignore the intrusive music that plays in all of the completely wrong places…I can drown it with Ren fangirl love. XD
Kyoko’s urge for make up shows itself again! ^.^ I have a ton of make up that I don’t even use, it’s really not all that great. I never really understood why she wanted it so bad.
Roflmao. This was just too funny. Kyoko’s determination always makes me laugh. (Or does that weird “I can do it if I believe in myself!” thing that is a side effect of too much shoujo.)
Once again have to say how happy I am with their chibi-ness! XD I just love all things chibi…and chibi Kyoko is cute!
REN! *Tackles* Yes, yes! I shall take Ren home and hide him in my closet…mehe..he can keep Ikuto company.
I really love Ren! He’s one of the coolest male shoujo leads I’ve seen in a long time!
Kyoko truly is someone who sets out for her goals. Most shoujo girls are like that but Kyoko has unique way of going about it! ^.^ She’s always entertaining to watch. I probably wouldn’t have the patience to sit in that position for hours on end…or to stay in the area…I’d get distracted!
MWAHAH! Stalker Kyoko! I’m really astounded with how well Kyoko’s seiyuu is doing. She keeps pulling off every single emotion of Kyoko’s so nicely. I’m just tickled by it!
Kyoko is so frickin’ cute! Being happy just because she got the audition, instead of freaking out over it. (Those hard days of stalking Sawara paid off.
)
KYAAAA~! Chibi-fied Ren! OMOSHIKAIRII!! He’s just so f*cking AWESOME! XD So good at bullying Kyoko too! But they do have quite the height difference…I never noticed it in the manga…but now it’s kind of pronounced.
Kyoko is really dangerous when she’s pissed. This entire scene cracked me up though…Kyoko’s crazy ranting and her terrified landlords one room over!
The Ren picture is up next to the Sho poster now! Happy~! It was SO much smaller than Sho’s though…That evil bastard!! I don’t think they really explained that the size of the picture coincides with the size of Kyoko’s grudge. It may be a minor fact, but I still found it important.
VOODOO DOLLS!! I am so happy! I love Kyoko’s voodoo dolls! Plus, making voodoo dolls seems like a nice stress relieving hobby! XD Kyoko is quite the original.
Kanae! I’m pleased with her character design, seiyuu and the fact that she is just such a drama queen! Her appearance makes me want to see the beginning of the Love Me section right now. >.< We still got aways to go though.
Rofl! Maria is such a cute little brat! Kyoko is a big bully too! XD In the manga, Maria really annoyed me at first, but then I started loving her before I noticed it. Lol. She’s a fun and sweet character to have around, I’m looking forward to her backstory!
Hehehe! The LME president is just awesome. Purely cool. He’s yet another fun character to have around. It’s all these good character that kept me interested in Skip Beat! to begin with.
DAIKON! XD I learned while watching the anime Tsuyokiss (which was almost a complete waste of time) that “Daikon” can be used as a pun for bad actor. Lol. This scene reminded me of that immediatley.
I really like this though, Kyoko shows off the most random skill ever!
Preview
The second half of the auditions next week! And more goodies that I’m looking forward too! XD

Here is another nice coverage of Skip Beat. I don’t feel that bad after dropping it now because many people provide excellent reports already
Looks like you really like Ren
It is nice that this anime provides interesting male and female characters. I especially like Kyoko’s determination
Woo! More Ren love~! I wonder if the day will ever come when we can all watch the Skip Beat! anime without being distracted by Ren.
I’ve already talked so much about this episode on various places so I’m not sure what to say anymore except…REN!!!
Oh yeah, and I think I knew the daikon thing from some manga (or anime), but I have no idea where I heard it from. Darn you! That’s going to drive me crazy now.
