Couple 1 – Amu and Ikuto!

Ok, if you didn’t have this figured out as my number one that’s really sad, cause it’s really quite obvious! xD Couple 1 is a cool and spicy pair with a bit of canon on the side! The one, the only, AMUTO! *Giggles*

The Amuto pairing is one of the first I can give my loyal support to it quite some time. Meaning it doesn’t have a big love triangle and I have no problems with the characters. (I suppose Tadase should count, right? Shouldn’t he? Hm…Nope, he doesn’t exist to me! xD)

This couple gets my support for multiple reasons. Number 1, the way they met. It was hilarious it both the anime and manga. Nothing like cool and spicy Amu falling into a hole and then getting attacked by a beautiful boy with neko mimi. ^.^

I think I may love this pairing so much because I love the characters individually, with no questions or really huge problems blinding me.

I love Amu. She bright, peppy and loud at times. But also fun and sweet. And she knows to be serious at the right moments as well. She has a great personality, and is just cute enough to eat up. Her style is awesome, she’s optimistic, and not afraid to speak her mind.

Ikuto gets two pics, cause he’s just that smexi! <3

I love Ikuto. Like seriously love him. If I didn’t approve of him being with Amu, I’d take him for myself. He is the perfect man, he’s just animated. T.T Because yes, the perfect man in my world has kitty ears from time to time. Ikuto is mysterious, random and a bad guy. Three very important traits if you ask me. I just can’t resist when girls fall for their enemies. Forbidden love is so much sweeter. We often get to see Ikuto laying on a roof or a grassy hill, just to drink up his hotness. ^.^

This pairing was the one I supported from the beginning. They are just perfect together. Tadase didn’t even get a place in the running for Amu, cause she is purely ment for Ikuto. She is, ok? She just is!

I loved when you first meet Ikuto, think he’s a bad guy and then find out that he can be very sweet. The fact that he warned Amu not to become a Guardian because they would be enemies was so cute and a huge clue that he had a thing for her.

He brings her treats on a few different occasions. xD I love seeing Ikuto with that slightly embarrassed look, and you know when he’s embarrassed because Yoru talks for him. At first I was unsure of whether the plot would actually allow Amu and Ikuto to end up together. It was a stupid worry. The scene the had me completely convinced me was this one…

The ear biting scene. Because if you bite a girls ear, it really saying something. Anyways, after this scene I finally let my blind fangirling free and became an avid Amuto supporter. Any episode with Ikuto is an A+ but any episode with Ikuto and Amu is about 1,000 times better. ^.^

And believe it or not, they have quite a few moments and episodes dedicated to them. Yeah, we get to see their relationship progress. Not Tadase and Amu’s. Cause honestly, there will be no progress when your in love with a frilly outfit and “I rock” attitude. Tadase = Baka. It’s a no-no to love people for their Chara-nari’s!

Sheesh, even on the AmuxTadase date episode Ikuto comes and distracts Amu. Because yes, she is always going to be distracted by him and listen to what he has to say. Even if it’s viciously cute teasing.

I honestly think Ikuto has Amu senses. Cause he has this great habit of showing up where she is. He saves her when she randomly falls a few times and just shows up to poke fun at Amu quite a bit. Like in the ice cream episode…*Drools* And let’s just face it, Ikuto’s date with Amu just OWNED Tadase’s ok. It really did…Aquarium vs. Theme Park at Night…Aquarium looses! Sorry Tadase, just the way it is.

While Tadase spends all his time loving Amulet Heart, Ikuto ends up falling in love with the real Amu. They keep running into one another and spending more and more time together. Amu becomes to really care about him too, and then she doesn’t understand why.

Because yes, my loveable Amu is in self-denial about being in love with Ikuto. For multiple little reasons that could be pushed completely aside. But that’s ok, cause Amu will realize it soon enough. Especially since Ikuto has the Key that pairs with her Lock.

And yes, episode 38 made me completely believe if she was ending up with anyone, it was Ikuto. That’s just how it’s gonna be. Not only are they naturally thrown together. He has the key that pairs with her lock. And what will happen when the key and lock come together anyways?

All I know is Ikuto is in love with Amu and he knows it. My proof can be found in episode 38. I choose to believe he couldn’t fit the key into her lock (God, that sounds so dirty everytime I say it. >.< ) because she hasn’t accepted her feelings for him yet. But Ikuto was ready to go, he was all for putting his key in her lock. Which makes me believe that he knows he loves her and is completely willing to do anything to be with her. The fact that Ikuto’s key would have fit, proves that he loves her. Amu just got scared.

And how could you be scared of him? Look, he’s just so cute! I would never be afraid with him by my side. Let’s just hope Amu figures everything out before it is too late. Her hidden feelings are going to be coming to the surface very soon. Hopefully with Ikuto’s arc in the anime.

Because how could you not realize you love someone when he’s living in your room? Huggling you at night. ( I AM SO JEALOUS!) And you get to stand in the same room with him while he showers?! Ok, so that would just embarrass Amu, but it’s still epic.

And I think the fact that Amu didn’t really feel anything when Tadase confessed to her in the manga says a lot. She was to busy thinking about Ikuto, shoved in her closet. xD

I can’t wait for the Ikuto arc to get animated. I seriously want to see all of that sweet Amuto action.

And this picture really says it all. Amu and Ikuto are a pair, just like their lock and key. They fit together, the belong together, they are fated to be together. That is just the outright truth. A fact.

Let’s just hope that Amu realizes it soon, cause if she doesn’t I might jump into the screen and steal Ikuto from her.

1. The forbidden fruit aspect
2. The sweetness that can come from loving an enemy.
3. All their moments nearly give me nosebleeds.
4. They are completely OTP.

There are about 200 other reasons that come to mind, but that would be a really long list.

So with this post the Couple Countdown has officially ended. I may do a favorite anime man countdown after this, I’m not sure yet.

Couple 2! – Tohru and Kyo

No, you don’t have to say anything, I already know. This general post may be met with WTF?! cause it deviates a bit from all the other couples. Well, That’s just to bad, ne?

I wasn’t intending to have Tohru and Kyo in the posts at all, but they just practically kicked my 2nd place couple off the list.

Lately I’ve been having Fruits Basket withdrawls, so I rewatched the entire show for about the millionth time. And though the anime is good, I prefer the manga much much more.

However, I don’t own the manga! T.T

I think the pairing of Tohru and Kyo is perfect. She is an immensely kind person, always trying to do for others and he’s hot headed and loud but shows his affection in very cute ways.

I support this pairing both in the anime and manga, but the manga more cause there is much more romance in there.

Now, I think everything about this couple is cute. The way they met, the fights they have, the way the grow…So on so forth! I especially love the way Tohru is slowly coming to realize her feeling for Kyo in the manga. And that he already knows his feelings for her.

Now, to all you Yuki/Tohru fangirls out there, I’m sorry but no. It’s just not happening. I’m not saying this out of my fangirl passion or anything like that.

But if you read in the manga, you will see that the mangaka is doing a very subtle job in setting Yuki up with Ms. Student Council (I can’t seem to remember her name). And though Yuki does love Tohru we all now know that, but he doesn’t love her in that way.

In the way of Shojo couples, this one is purely just amazing. From the beginning I supported the two of them. Everytime they had a moment, I was completely submersed in fangirl giggles and squeals. I’m very picky about couples and it’s hard to find one that can make me feel that way.

Not to mention the TohruxKyo pairing was one of the ones that originally got me into fangirl shipping. Though I suppose the fangirl thing really began with Inuyasha…

I love Tohru’s characteristics. She isn’t just your average shojo character. There’s more too her than that. The constant kindess she gives to others and her ability to realize their pain and help them begin to heal is a very special quality. I absolutely adore her. A friend mine once said she was too pure and that it got annoying…I almost bit her head off! xD

Kyo’s personality is beautiful as well. Like almost all of the characters in Fruits Basket, he has a dark back story but that’s to be expected. I love that he is loud, and wild but sweet when the moment requires it. I also very much enjoy his hate for leeks, cause it’s just hilarious! And being loved by Tohru most certainly changed his outlook, but not his personality! He’s still the same old loud, hardheaded Kyo. I would be sad if he wasn’t, because the difference in personalities is what gives this couple chemistry.

Tohru and Kyo accept eachother for who they are. Yes, Tohru accepts everyone but it very special when she accepted Kyo.

Kyo is always trying to make her happy in his own way as well.

And though the anime has ended, I will be quite upset if I don’t get to see these two together in the progressing manga.

Especially since Tohru is trying to break the curse to save him. <33
